what did the teacher mean with thesaurus?

i would to ask about a thesaurus
today i take a lesson “key strategies parts 2”
the teacher said: if you have difficult paraphrase use a thesaurus to help …what did he mean with thesaurus?

Hi Khlood – A ‘thesaurus’ is a synonym and antonym dictionary, you can find these online and in bookstores. Also, if you are using an English version of Microsoft Word, you will find this tool in your ‘review’ tab on the left. Definitely use this tool.

Hi John, Yes, you are right. And, it should be the tool of choice for intermediate to advanced learners of any language when deciphering new words. (not a dictionary).
