Hey everyone, I’ve been reading a lot about healthy fats lately, and extra virgin olive oil (EVOO) seems to come up often as a great choice. I know it’s a staple in Mediterranean diets, which are considered some of the healthiest. But is EVOO really as healthy as people say? How does it compare to other fats, like butter or coconut oil? I’d love to hear your thoughts on whether extra virgin olive oil is the healthiest fat to incorporate into our diets!

Great question! Extra virgin olive oil (EVOO) is indeed a healthy fat, especially compared to butter or coconut oil. While all fats have calories, EVOO is packed with monounsaturated fats and antioxidants, making it a staple in the Mediterranean diet, which has been linked to numerous health benefits. As for the concern is extra virgin olive oil fattening, it’s important to remember that moderation is key. EVOO can actually aid in weight management when used wisely, thanks to its heart-healthy properties.
