I started using crypto to pay for some of my hosting after reading that it offers more privacy than using a card, but I’m starting to question whether that’s really true in practice. Most crypto transactions are publicly visible on the blockchain, so unless you’re using something like Monero, you’re essentially creating a transparent record of every payment — just pseudonymous rather than anonymous. Compare that to paying by card, where at least the transaction is private between you and your bank. I’m wondering if the actual privacy benefit for something like PBN hosting is mostly a perception thing or if there’s a real operational security argument here that I’m missing. What’s the actual reason people prefer crypto for this kind of payment?
