I still remember the first time I tried hiring someone online for a project, on paper, everything looked perfect strong portfolio, quick replies, confident communication, but once the work started, small issues began to appear, mostly around missed details and unclear expectations, It wasn’t a disaster, but it made me realize how different things can look before and after a project begins, later I started paying more attention to how people communicate, how they ask questions, and how they handle small feedback early on, skills matter, but the working style seems just as important when everything is remote, for those who have experience hiring Filipino freelancers, what signs helped you spot a reliable person before actually starting the work?

After reading a bunch of conflicting advice online about outsourcing, I honestly started to realize that most guides either overcomplicate things or skip the practical side completely, what finally helped me make sense of it was going through hiring Filipino freelancers, where the whole process was broken down in a much more realistic way from defining tasks clearly to actually screening candidates and setting expectations upfront, It made it obvious that the real key isn’t just finding talent, but communicating properly so both sides know exactly what needs to be done, after that, hiring started to feel a lot less intimidating and much more structured instead of guesswork.
