I’m terrible at remembering to verify downloads. I know I should, and I hear all the warnings about malware and corrupted files, but it always slips my mind. I guess I’m just too eager to get the file or app and start using it. So, really, what am I missing out on by skipping this step? Is it just peace of mind, or am I leaving myself seriously vulnerable to something? What are the biggest risks of not verifying downloads?

You’re definitely not alone! It’s easy to get lazy about security. I think that, by not verifying, you’re missing out on a significant layer of protection. I was reading this article https://corezing.com/why-download-verification-matters-in-a-mobile-first-world/ the other day that really spelled it out. According to the article, the biggest risk is potentially installing malware or corrupted software that could compromise your device or data. The convenience of skipping verification steps can lead to significant security vulnerabilities. That makes it important to prioritize this safety check, and perhaps consider setting up reminders to do this every time.
