I just finished my nursing program and I’m trying to land a job at a clinic, but I’m scared of bombing the interview. How should I approach it? Should I just answer their questions or am I supposed to be asking stuff too? Anyone who’s been through this, what would you say?

A lot of it comes down to who’s interviewing you. Some will just hit you with three textbook questions and be done with it. Others will start getting in your head, throwing personal stuff at you that has nothing to do with nursing, and if you lose your cool you’re not getting the job.

Either way, you’ve got to show you’re genuinely interested in the job. Don’t just sit there quietly answering their questions, ask some of your own too. That way they’ll see you’re not just some desperate candidate who’ll take anything, but someone actually worth hiring. Read up on what questions to ask your interviewer to show you know your stuff here https://roundlyhq.com/blog/questions-to-ask-the-interviewer-nursing/ . Better to go in prepared than to end up scrolling through job boards looking for nursing openings all over again.
