Emergency! Major leak in the basement and it’s 2 AM!

I’m in a total panic right now. I just went down to the basement to grab a blanket and stepped into a huge puddle of water. It looks like a pipe near the main shut-off has started spraying, and even though I’ve turned the valve as hard as I can, it’s still leaking.
