We’re about to begin a company-wide migration to Microsoft 365, and one of the biggest tasks is moving existing IMAP mailboxes from multiple providers. Some employees use Gmail, others use Yahoo or Zoho Mail, while a few departments still rely on private IMAP servers. Since the migration affects hundreds of users, our focus is on maintaining mailbox accuracy while minimizing disruption to day-to-day business operations.
Our IT team has been comparing different ways to migrate IMAP to Office 365, but we’re still deciding which workflow would be safest for an enterprise deployment. We need support for bulk mailbox migration, CSV account mapping, secure authentication, incremental migration, mailbox preview, duplicate detection, advanced filters, and detailed migration reports. We’re also planning a pilot deployment involving a few departments before expanding the migration to the rest of the organization. This should help us identify any authentication, permission, or mailbox mapping issues early in the project.
While researching enterprise software for IMAP to Office 365 migration, I found the DRS Softech IMAP to Microsoft 365 Migration Tool. Based on the available documentation, it appears to provide centralized migration management, secure authentication, preview functionality, incremental synchronization, reporting, and batch processing. Those capabilities seem useful for organizations managing hundreds of mailboxes, but I’d prefer hearing practical experiences from IT professionals who’ve actually used similar tools.
