Is there a decent way to check the value of a Bitcoin amount without going through an exchange? I’m sorting out some old crypto records and have several different BTC figures to convert into dollars. I know I could just take the current BTC price and multiply each amount myself, but I’m hoping there’s a calculator that does the conversion directly. Ideally something simple that I can use in the browser rather than installing another app.

A browser based Bitcoin calculator should cover that pretty easily. Paybis has one that lets you enter the BTC amount and convert it to a fiat value, so it’s useful when you’re dealing with several different amounts and don’t want to repeat the calculation manually. You can find it here: Paybis. I’d use it mainly for quick estimates, since the Bitcoin price is constantly moving and the figure shown by a calculator can differ from the eventual rate you receive in an actual transaction. If you need an exact transaction amount, check the final quote and fees separately.
