A snug piercing

Hi everyone. I do contact martial arts and often wear a helmet. I’m really interested in getting a snug piercing because it looks incredibly cool and unique. Could you tell me how vulnerable this piercing is to external influences? Will I be able to combine training with healing, or will any accidental pressure on my ear make life hell? Should I cover it with a bandage during training?

Combining a fresh snag with contact sports is a bad idea, I can tell you from experience. Even with a bandage, any pressure from a helmet or an accidental hit during training will cause excruciating pain and reopen the wound. Repeated injuries can even cause the cartilage to become deformed.
