What does it mean to pay a salary for mothers to take care of the family?

Giving a monthly payment to mothers for spending a significant portion (8hrs/day) of their time to do household chores, teach and care for family members, especially their children.

Are there any places or societies where mothers are paid for parenting today?

In many countries companies or the government does provide maternity leave and pay.

Also, many countries do give Child Care Benefits – payment for having children, especially when the family has lower income.

***TIP – When thinking about your position and response for Task 2 is to reference your existing knowledge – “do not try to reinvent the wheel”

Opinion – Yes, I strongly agree that mothers should be paid for taking care of the family 🡪 Why? (thesis points – clear, unique, top choice, parallel grammar)

  1. To appreciate effort b. to improve family life quality

Introductory Paragraph (Hook + Background + Thesis)

(Hook) Getting paid for motherhood is a commonly discussed topic nowadays. (Background – gives a definition of the topic + importance) A monthly salary for mothers to do household chores, teach life skills and care for children has been proposed by societies in order to encourage good parenting. I strongly agree that mothers should be paid for taking care of the family to acknowledge their efforts and improve their lives.

BODY 1 – (Topic sentence – deeper definition of paying moms to acknowledge [compensate with money] their efforts – the time and energy)

Mothers invest an incredible amount of time and energy to raise their children for the betterment of society and for this work they deserve monetary compensation just like any other service job. (Explanation – quantification of ideas) Moms spend at least ten hours a day, seven days a week, preparing meals, washing clothes and dishes, and taking children to school, to ensure good health and productivity for the family and for this they deserve at least twice the minimum monthly salary from taxpayer income. (Example – real-world, which can be clearly “seen” by your reader, and creates a sense of sympathy) The Canadian government paid 1000 dollars each month to my mother in recognition of her efforts to raise my siblings and I, and this is absolutely fair according to my opinion. (connection/conclusion) This is one of two reasons that governments should pay for motherhood.

BODY 2 – (Topic sentence + explanation + example)

Giving financial support to mothers not only improves their overall quality of life but also that of their family’s and society as a whole. (Explanation) The salary paid to moms is used by them to buy healthy foods, good education and luxury items which leads to success and happiness. My mom invested the 1000CAD she received from the government to buy organic produce for family meals as well as to pay for educational textbooks and videos. This kept my siblings and I healthy and strong and enabled us to become university graduates. Clearly, this led a better quality of life for both my mom and my family.

CONCLUSION (restate your thesis points + strengthen argument + take-home-message) In conclusion, regular payment for work done at home by moms shows appreciation for their efforts and empowers them for better life. I am in complete agreement that governments must budget for this. At the end of the day, paying moms is not only well deserved but also a benefit to all of society.

In our society, many of our moms sacrifice her career jobs to take care of her home, childrens and family. I strongly agree with the idea that these women deserves a monthly salary from the government to encourage them to provide a better education to her children in the interest of the society.

Nowadays, it’s common to see many children become bandits because of the lack of great education by their parents, especially their moms. And i think that, if the mothers of these “bandits” received a monthly amont by the government to help them better educate their children, these cases would be reduced. In fact, when childrens receive a good education with the necessary means, this is a great investment for the future generation. This is why, government should help mothers gives a good quality of life to her childrens.

Another fact is that women should receive a help or salary from the government to recompense her efforts. Because of the time invested by these women in the education of their children, the future generation could be a great help to the state, to the country. Without the time investesby these women, this would not be possible. This is the second reason that push me to agree with the fact that every women who sacrifice their life to raise properly their children deserve a amount to rewards her efforts.

To conclude, i can affirm that women are the pillars of any society because of the quality of the education they gives to their children and the time they spent raising them. As a result of this, the government must support them.

In today’s world, many mothers are staying home to care for their families and not entering the workforce. Some people propose that these mothers should be paid a salary by the government for their hard work. While there is a certain argument for payment for these services, such a solution could lead to more problems than it would solve.

On the one hand, there is a strong case for mothers receiving compensation for their hard work and dedication. Being a stay-at-home mother is a challenging and often stressful job, and providing a salary could help to alleviate some of the financial burden many stay-at-home mothers face. In addition, the parents’ involvement in their children’s education and development is often invaluable and should not go unrecognized or unrewarded.

On the other hand, providing a salary for stay-at-home mothers could create more problems than it would solve. Such an effort may open up a far wider set of complications with regards to taxation, eligibility and other government regulations. Furthermore, in many middle- and low-income households, the spouse of a stay-at-home mother may not be able to afford the additional costs associated with paying their spouse a salary. Lastly, paying stay-at-home mothers a salary could lead to incentives for mothers to stay at home instead of looking for employment, which could have a negative impact on workforce participation and the economy.

In conclusion, while it may be tempting to suggest that stay-at-home mothers be provided with a salary, the potential drawbacks of such a solution may outweigh any potential benefits. Moreover, stay-at-home mothers do significant work to support their families and should be recognized, respected and supported in other ways.
