OVERVIEW (a.k.a. the Introduction) – 2 Parts: 1. Paraphrase the question with more details. 2. Report the most obvious information *this is NOT necessarily the most and least.

This table gives data about the number of five vehicles types, passenger vehicles (PV), commercial vehicles (CV), motorcycles (M), heavy trucks (HT), and light trucks (LT) registered in Australia in 2010, 2012 and 2014, as well as the percent change in 2010 compared to 2014. At first glance, it is notable that all five vehicle types increased in numbers every two years given. Among these the largest volume registered was PV, and the greatest change was with M.

ANALYSES

By summing each of these columns, it becomes evident that PV had about 80% of all registrations in each year given, 11.8, 12.7, and 13 million respectively. Furthermore, the addition of columns reveals an increase of about 1 million plus vehicles registered in Australia every two years from 2010, at 15 million, 2012, at 16 million, and 2014 at 17 million. Some further analyses reveal that indeed there was an increase in the use of M by 30% from 2010 to 2014 which was the greatest change among these vehicles, as where the least change was with HT at just over 8%. As well CV were the second most registered in each of the given years making up about 15% of the total number in each year, leaving the remaining 5% split among the other three vehicle types.

SUMMARY

To sum up, although all five vehicle types increased in numbers of registrations in the given years the percent change varied significantly by vehicle type.
