One of the most useful ideas that I gained from my home economics class back in 2000 was to write a cookbook with my grandma’s recipes. A cooking competition was going on in school and I had prepared a delicious chocolate cake following my grandma’s special recipe. It was loved by everyone, and my home economics teacher had advised me to write it down. At that moment, the idea was born in my mind to interview my grandma, Mary, and ask her about all of her tasty recipes. In order to make this idea a reality, I needed to find out about all of the ingredients and methods to prepare my grandma’s famous dishes, add some pictures, and I did this using my computer. The credit for this idea definitely goes to my home economics teacher who encouraged me throughout the process, her name is Ms.Francis, and I included a little bit about her at the end of the book. This has been a very useful idea from school because it led to selling over 10K copies of the book. Not only do I use this income to pay for my tuition, but I also share it with my grandma, and she uses the royalties to go on a nice vacation each year. On improvement, or should I say addition to this, is to ask my other grandma, so I can write a second book : )
