Anyone who runs that corridor regularly has been burned the same way. My system is two layers. First the state highway conditions feed for live closures and chain controls, checked before I leave, not while I am driving. Second a county source for the scheduled stuff, project phases, work windows, anything that is planned rather than sudden. Tip: know your alternate routes before you need them, and know which ones are genuinely usable in winter, because a couple of them look fine on a map and are a bad idea in practice. Leave earlier than you think in storm season.
