I’ve been on a mission to reduce my screen time before bed, but reading a book sometimes isn’t enticing enough. I’ve made a compromise: I allow myself 15 minutes on goldenmister, but only on games with a ‘night mode’ or darker colour schemes. The engagement is enough to satisfy my urge for digital interaction, but the lack of blue-light-heavy social media feeds seems less disruptive. After my session, I find it easier to put the phone down and pick up a book, as the need for interactive stimulation has been met in a finite, controlled way.
