Best practices for tracking requests and responses

I’m starting to send out more fan mail and want to get organized. How do you efficiently track who you’ve written to, when you sent it, and any responses you get? I’m considering a simple spreadsheet, but I’m curious if there are better tools or methods the community swears by. I found an article on quickwin app about managing projects and follow-ups, which had some good organizational tips that felt applicable. Any recommendations for staying on top of this hobby?
