Hi, everyone! I’m currently applying for a work visa in Singapore because I received a job offer from a local international school, and the lawyers are requiring PCCs from all the countries where I’ve worked in recent years. In 2021, I taught for nearly ten months on Santo Island (Vanuatu) as part of a volunteer program.

I think you understand that returning to Luganville or Port Vila just to visit the police isn’t realistic right now, since the flights would cost a fortune. Has anyone obtained such a certificate through the Vanuatu Police Clearance Certificate service, and what has been your actual experience working with them? Please let me know: is it true that they first check with the police for free to see if they’ll issue the document at all, and do they require fingerprinting or biometric data, since it’s difficult to arrange that while traveling?

Yes, it really is a great and reliable service; I used them to get my document and was completely satisfied. The team works very efficiently: acting under a power of attorney, they submit the applications to police headquarters in Port Vila themselves, pay the government fee at the Central Cashier’s Office, and handle all the paperwork. As for your question—yes, the information on their website, vanuatupcccertificate.com/ , is accurate: they first check whether the certificate can be issued for free before you pay. The police don’t require any biometric data or fingerprints; a scanned copy of your passport is enough. They respond quickly on WhatsApp. Have you asked your employer for a scan yet?
