I’m practising for the IELTS Speaking test and trying to come up with better examples for topics related to clothing, culture, and personal identity.

One thing I’ve been thinking about is how the clothes people wear can represent more than just personal style. For some people, traditional clothing reflects their family background, while for others, modern designs with cultural messages can be a way to express pride in their heritage.

I recently came across the term “Melanin Apparel For Women,” which got me thinking about how clothing can celebrate identity and representation. It seems like an interesting example to use when discussing how fashion can communicate a person’s values or cultural background.

For IELTS Speaking, would this be a good example for a question about a piece of clothing that has special meaning, or would a personal story about traditional clothing be easier to explain?

I’d appreciate any suggestions for developing this kind of answer naturally, especially for improving vocabulary and fluency.
