For example, if the examiner asks about your home, kitchen, furniture, or a renovation project, you might know what you want to describe but not remember the exact English term. I recently came across the phrase Santa Monica RTA Cabinets, and it made me think about how difficult very specific vocabulary can be when you are speaking under exam pressure.

Would you try to explain the item using simpler words, or would you ask the examiner to clarify what they mean? I feel that continuing the conversation naturally is probably more important than trying to force a complicated word that you are not completely sure about.

For those who have already taken the speaking test, did you come across any unfamiliar vocabulary on exam day? How did you deal with it without losing your train of thought?
