Woke up to a cold house this morning, thermostat is calling for heat and the furnace just isn’t lighting. I can hear it try, there’s a click and a whir, then nothing and it goes quiet again. I’ve reset the breaker and pulled the filter, which was filthy, and replaced it. Still nothing. It’s in the high 30s outside and we’ve got an older relative staying with us. Is this something I keep poking at or do I stop and call someone? I’m reasonably handy with cars and basic plumbing, so I’m not afraid of a screwdriver, but gas appliances feel like a line I probably shouldn’t cross without knowing what I’m doing. Appreciate any guidance before I make this worse.
