I see two completely different approaches to CS2 skins. Some people buy rare items and hold them for months or years, while others try to flip skins quickly for smaller profits. Holding sounds calmer, but it also means your money is stuck in one item. Quick flipping sounds active, but fees and bad timing can eat the profit. Which approach makes more sense for rare skins?

Neither strategy is automatically better. Holding can be stronger for genuinely rare and culturally important skins, but it can also become passive hope if the buyer never rechecks the market. Quick flipping can make sense for liquid items, but only if the trader understands margins. The worst version is buying random “rare” skins and expecting time to solve everything. A skin needs demand, not just age.

Holding rare skins can work when the item has real demand, limited supply, and a reason collectors keep caring about it. Quick flipping needs sharper timing and often leaves less room for mistakes because fees, spreads, and slow sales matter. I read https://marketsherald.com/cs2-trade-a-comprehensive-guide-to-trading-cs2-skins/ while thinking about how trading decisions depend on both market knowledge and risk tolerance. Personally, I would not hold just because something is expensive. I would only hold if I understood why buyers may want it later.
