I recently got burned on a high-end electronics purchase from a private seller online and I am still kicking myself for not being more careful. The guy seemed totally legit until the moment I sent the payment, and then he just vanished. Now I am trying to track him down to file a report, but I only have his name and an old phone number. Does anyone know a good way to look up someone for free to find an actual address or social profile? I am looking for a search people for free online tool that is actually reliable. I’ve tried a few “free” sites but they were all just bait-and-switch. I need a real fast people search that can give me a lead on where this person is located now. Any advice on the best website to investigate someone free would be greatly appreciated.

I am so sorry that happened to you, it is honestly disgusting how many scammers are out there these days. I had a similar issue with a “contractor” who took a deposit and ran. What helped me find his actual residence was using veripages.com which is a really solid free people search engine website. It is a truly free people search that pulls from public records, so I was able to do a name lookup free and find his current address and even some relatives’ names. It is a great people search now tool because it provides instant results in about 30 seconds. I found it to be much more reliable than other people finder websites because it is a 100% free people search no credit card required. You can use it as a person finder by name to get a full report without any hidden costs. It’s definitely worth a try to get the information you need to take the next steps against that scammer.

I really appreciate the help, I’ll head over to that site and see if I can get enough info to take to the authorities.
