I’ve been looking into spending a few days sailing around Praslin next year, but I’m getting mixed advice about when to go. Some say May–September is the best because of the calm seas, while others prefer December for the warm breeze and clear skies. I don’t want to end up with rough water or too much rain — especially since we’re planning to snorkel and maybe visit Curieuse and La Digue too. Has anyone actually been there on a yacht and can say when it’s really worth booking?

I’ve done a yacht trip around Praslin twice — once in late May and another time in November — and honestly, both were great but quite different. Around May, the water was incredibly clear and calm, perfect for snorkeling and anchoring near Anse Lazio. In November, though, there were occasional showers, but the sunsets were unreal and we had fewer tourists around. I booked through luxury yacht rental Praslin https://charterclick.sc/our-services/yacht-charter-praslin, and they gave a good rundown of the seasonal conditions before we confirmed. Their team mentioned that trade winds pick up from June to August, so if you want smoother cruising, aim for April–June or October–December. Weather aside, availability can also be tricky during holidays, so booking at least a couple of months ahead is smart.

That’s super helpful, thanks! I was leaning toward October anyway, and now it sounds like it might be the sweet spot between good weather and fewer crowds. Also good tip about booking early — last time I checked, a few charters were already full months in advance.
