From what I’ve seen, people usually worry about glass until they understand the different types and thickness levels used in exterior doors. Laminated glass doesn’t shatter easily, and even if it cracks, it tends to stay in one piece rather than falling out. There are also designs where the glass placement doesn’t give direct access to the lock, so even breaking it wouldn’t help an intruder. On the other hand, natural light is a big plus, especially in homes with darker entryways. Some homeowners choose smaller inserts or frosted glass to get light without sacrificing privacy. In the end, I think it’s about choosing the right balance between design, safety, and comfort.
