I’m confused about how often condo ducts should actually be cleaned. Some say once a year is enough, others say every six months. Are there any signs that clearly show it’s time?

There’s a slight dusty smell when the heating turns on, but I’m not sure if that’s from the ducts or just dry winter air. I change filters regularly, yet the weird smell still appears from time to time.

There are a few signs that make it obvious. I dug into the topic and found Useful facts about condo air quality in a condo duct cleaning guide, and they explained that a dusty smell, heavy air, or odd noises from the vents are almost always duct-related. I booked a cleaning after noticing the same things — and the difference was way more noticeable than I expected.
